Where Fortium uses AI
- Import: reads a program from a photo, PDF, Word or Excel file, screenshot or pasted text, and turns it into workouts.
- Program building: builds a starting program from your answers in onboarding, and explains why it fits.
- The coach: answers your training questions and proposes changes to your program.
- Weekly check-in (Fortium Pro): a short review of your recent training.
Targets, progression, records and streaks are not AI. They are fixed rules that run on your iPhone.
You stay in control
- Permission first. Fortium asks before it sends anything to AI for the first time.
- You check every import. Fortium shows what it read, flags every line it isn't sure about and lists anything it couldn't use. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
- The coach asks first. Changes to your program are proposals shown as a before/after. Nothing changes until you tap Approve.
- Labelled. The coach tells you it's an AI, not a doctor, at the top of your conversation and under the message box.
- Off switch. Turn AI off at any time in Profile › Privacy & data › AI features. Logging, history, targets and records keep working.
Provider and data
Fortium uses Anthropic's Claude models. Your request goes to Fortium's own server in the European Union (Ireland), which checks your allowance and passes it to Anthropic's API. The model runs at Anthropic, outside the EU: Anthropic stores data in the United States, and processing may happen in other countries.
- Sent: the files and photos you choose to import, your messages to the coach, your onboarding answers (such as goal, experience, equipment and schedule), a summary of your training (such as recent sessions, top sets and your body weight if you logged it), and injuries or limits you told Fortium about when they matter to the request.
- Never sent: your name, your email address or your Apple Health data. Anthropic doesn't receive your account ID.
- Kept: Fortium's AI server does not store the content of AI requests; it logs only technical details (request ID, feature, token count, cost). Your coach thread is kept on your iPhone and in your backup, like your workouts. Anthropic deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, may keep them for up to 2 years if its safety systems flag them, and does not use them to train its models.
Limits of AI
AI can be wrong. Check imported programs against the original, and use your own judgement before you train. The coach is not a doctor or physiotherapist: it won't diagnose injuries or give medical treatment. If you tell it something hurts, or mention an injury, a health condition or medication, it says a doctor or physiotherapist should clear you first and suggests a safer alternative for that movement.
Teens and safety
- Fortium is for people aged 13 and over.
- The coach follows rules that keep it on training: it doesn't diagnose, and it sends pain, injuries, health conditions and medication questions to a doctor or physiotherapist.
- To report a reply, email it to sviatoslav.nahirnyi@gmail.com (a screenshot helps). We read every report and use them to improve the coach's rules.
- Fortium doesn't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child is using Fortium, contact us and we'll delete their data.
Fair use
To keep Fortium sustainable, AI features have allowances: on Free, one AI import or one AI-built plan plus 5 coach messages; on Fortium Pro, up to 20 imports, 15 AI-built plans and 150 coach messages in any 30 days (5 imports, 3 plans and 40 coach messages during the free trial).
